The Distraction

Before I even dive into this photoshoot I wanted to talk about everything that we have all been talking about COVID-19. As a public health professional, I feel like it would be wrong for me not to address the cause of our anxieties. Like many of you, I have been affected by keeping a responsible radius and spending a lot of my time at home. It’s nothing new – I’ve been working from home for the 7 or 8 months but again, I’m an introverted Aries who doesn’t like to be told how and when to spend her time so it’s been soooo incredibly frustrating. On top of that, my graduation ceremony has been moved to a virtual ceremony, my trip to Barcelona in April to celebrate my new degree and birthday is going to be canceled, and this photography thing is all up in the air because YOUR safety is my priority. But as frustrating as this all is, let’s remember what we are all trying to do – we are trying to keep our community alive and safe. We are all doing our due diligence as humans to protect the further transmission of this virus and I am thankful for all of you. By this time, you should have received an email from me if we have a photoshoot or wedding at any point this year. We are in this together and please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions and fears. I am here for each and every one of you.

NOW LET’S DIVE INTO THE PHOTOSHOOT

If you’ve been following me for a while you’ve probably seen Alex on numerous occasions dancing on the streets of Harrisburg, dancing in actual studios, dancing in art museums… well, now she’s dancing in the woods and on the steps of the capitol building. I’m going to be honest, this one is probably my favorite. Like most of my other forever clients/friends I absolutely love growing with them through my art. The way I photograph them changes but so does my editing style and it’s just such a cool thing to see how much growth I’ve gone through but also how much they have grown as an individual.

If you scroll back to my last blog, you’ll see the story of how my best friends Maggie & Auston got engaged… well during that time Alex was also there just to really throw off Maggie and distract her from what was really happening which meant I got to capture some beautiful images of Alex in a THRIFTED Vera Wang dress (look forward to some more dope images of Alex in thrifted outfits in the future wink wink). Okay, I’m done talking, let’s dive into the images.
