All this time spent inside the house really has reminded me about this special session I shared with this adorable little family. If you guys think you are tired, Jen and Matt have been through it all in a matter of a year! I was honestly so lucky to be asked to photograph their sweet little family. Jen wanted a photographer who could capture their new arrival without the cheesy newborn photo backgrounds, I mean how could I say no to such an opportunity!!!

I’m going to 100% real here, imposter syndrome really kicked in hard with this session. I was really anxious about this photoshoot for more than one reason.

1. Jen is a photographer. I don’t know how many of you have experienced this but every single time I photograph another photographer I get anxious. Anxious that they’ll judge the way I shoot, the photos taken, the edits, ALL OF IT. It’s so freaking nerve-wracking. I really have no idea why I’m like this because every single photographer I’ve ever photographed has been so genuine and kind but my mind just can’t help but put thoughts into my head.

2. Her and her husband has been photographed by the queen, Katch Silva. Like if imposter syndrome didn’t kick in already it FOR SURE did after learning this little fact. I start comparing myself to Katch, comparing my ability to capture photos and emotion – all of it. I don’t even know if I should be admitting this all to you on this blog but also, does anyone actually read these? Comment if you do, haha.

3. Newborns are hard. You can’t give them instruction, they’re fragile, they’re unpredictable… like how was I supposed to capture that?!

But at the end of the day, none of that mattered. It was all in my head (as always) and I was able to capture this little family’s sweet moments in their new home with their newborn baby. Here are some of those highlights:
